Fashions.org Newsletter for May 2009   What's New at Fashions.org Fashions.org continues to grow - we are now at 2700 members and counting!  Our most recent features include: If you look in the upper left corner of any page on Fashions.org, you will now see a "Search" link - click this, and you can search for members based on any combination of their name or business name, their location, or business type.  We invite you to use this feature to find and connect with others in the fashion industry.  Member directories are sorted based on use of Fashions.org - Members can move up in the listings by adding details to Registry Listings, and by using other free resources like Showcases, Classifieds, Event Postings, and Tearsheet Hosting. We now have a division of Fashions.org devoted to building websites and managing online marketing for businesses in the fashion industry.  We are working to simplify the process of creating professional websites that help fashion businesses grow and succeed. Remember, you can post information on fashion shows and events on our Calendar of Fashion Shows, and your jobs, gigs, availability and other opportunities in the Fashion Biz Classifieds. As always, we welcome your suggestions for new features and your comments on all existing features. The Fashions.org "Featured Member of the Month": Mika Altidor, owner of MMC Beauty & Jewelry MMC Beauty & Jewelry was founded by designer Mika Altidor. Mika always had a strong desire to influence the fashion world. She was creative, driven, and found beauty in the unlikeliest of materials. While studying fashion design in Fort Lauderdale, Florida she discovered her love for designing jewelry. Mika has grown her business using a combination of online and offline techniques.  She promotes her products at various venues in her local area, such as Javo Joe's Bristro in Winter Haven, FL.  Online, she uses Fashions.org to network with other fashion professionals.  In addition, she uses sites like Myspace, Facebook, Linkedin, and Fashion Network.  As she builds her business, she looks forward to marketing at mid-size trade shows in LA and New York.
